Welcome to Kids Climbing! The site for UK Kids Climbing information. I'm the parent of a 9-year old who began indoor climbing a couple of years ago. When I started looking on the web, I found it difficult to find a single source of information for kids gear or the subject of kids climbing in the UK, so I decided to build a web site for other parents/carers. Kids climbing tries to bring together as many of the widely spread resources as possible on the subject of climbing for younger children to help parents and carers find the information they need in a hurry. I hope you find this resource useful and would welcome any other information or resources you may have found so I can make it available on this site. Please contact me if you can help, or you can sign the Guestbook. Thanks for visiting and see you back soon!
Climbing quotes "The best climber in the world is the one that has the most fun." British Mountaineering Club (BMC) participation statement: "The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement." |
NoticeboardThe Rockboots page was updated on 29/05/09. The Sit/Chest harness page has also been partially updated on 30/05/09 Notice the new images? Thanks to our fantastic artist Abi for creating them especially for Kidsclimbing! Look at more of Abi's excellent work at Greencreepers.co.uk. We can now offer very simple translations of the entire site. Sorry that the Guestbook hasn't been working recently - it's now fixed, so why not leave a message? We now have a Climbing Fun page with a quiz and wordsearch! Thanks to the many climbers who have helped to swell the links in the Climbing Stuff section! I've now split it up into separate pages under a new Kid-Friendly... header. I came across this useful link recently to the UK Children's Directory - it's a comprehensive web directory of children's activities and services throughout the UK. Any parents⁄carers who have second hand⁄outgrown climbing boots please contact me and I'll post it up on the noticeboard. If you've got any comments or questions about this site or you can write a review of any of the gear, please contact me.
